15- remember

these topics are not accidental are they?
tonight, as I was scratching the wacom I had a phone call from my uncle.
He lives a hundred miles from here. He taught me everything I know about art.
He got me out of soccer and heavy metal to bring me to auteur movies and modern music. and art. museums. beauty. he taught me phil glass and steve reich, blade runner and the wall.

so, today I remember my uncle roger, my mom's youngest brother.

about the illo:
at that day, one of those 3 or 5 moments of total happiness.
this one includes a 3 hours ride thru corsica's best coast road, a plate of pasta with sea fruits (not that good actually), a turquoise bikini, a walk on the beach, pink mountains, and
a fat girlfriend
this will sound as a surprise for the accidental viewers but I'm a very melancholic sensitive type of drunkyard.
have a nice week end.

mon coeur mon amour

bon week end :P

14-POLAR

don't let them fool you. polar bears are bastards.
They kill seals with their bare hands and eat them.
Polar bears were NOT invented by god to sell coke at the north pole. that's marketing, you are watching too much TV. polar bears eat their kids. they'll sneak into your room and bite your feet off while you sleep. they piss on the ice floe. they behead baby pinguins.
that's life. one second you're part of the world, next thing you know, you're left overs on the perimter of a plate after lunch. and all you have left to do is listen to mazzy star and dream about the time you were a baby pinguin. eh...life sucks.

"polar" is the french word used for detective stories and "film noir" stories with cops and generally depressing moods and people killing eatch others. it comes from "police" as motard comes from moto and connard comes from con.
so. you learned a few valuable lessons and I managed to spend a couple of sleepless hours between night and day.
see you next week, unless your head gets bitten off first.

13-fortune

my 13th illustration on friday 13 and the topic is fortune.
didn't realise it untill I saved the finished image. these things just happen.

THE GAME OF THE DAY is who's quote is this.
post your reponse here below. no googeling allowed.
results next week?
chaos is being yourself is something that can find application in art and in most part of your life. it's a conforting thought.
made this one with portishead but I'm too lazy to go looking for some cool link.

have a nice week-end. thank you for visiting.

12-GREEN

green, as in green house.
Chloe means green in ancient greek. at least that what SHE says. All I know is ...
In Greek mythology Dêmêtêr /də'miː.tɚ/ (Greek: Δημήτηρ, "mother-earth" or perhaps "distribution-mother", perhaps from the noun of the Indo-European mother-earth *dheghom *mater) is the goddess of grain and agriculture, the pure nourisher of youth and the green earth, the health-giving cycle of life and death, and preserver of marriage and the sacred law. She is invoked as the "bringer of seasons" in the Homeric hymn, a subtle sign that she was worshiped long before the Olympians arrived. The Homeric Hymn to Demeter has been dated to sometime around the Seventh Century BC.[1] She and her daughter Persephone were the central figures of the Eleusinian Mysteries that also predated the Olympian pantheon.

thank you wikipedia.

of course, I could have done a big green bike. I had a sort of FLASH watching motorcycle races on telly when I was around 10. I remember thinking "wow, this bike is SO BIG and SO GREEN!". I owned 3 kawasaki's, two of them were repainted, none of them ever was green.
spring seems here for good and for the whole 3 days week-end. that can only mean RIDE, RIDE, cold wine and outside table at cafe. new life, an ode to the "bringer of season", "the health-giving cycle of life and death"

aha.. the irony, looks like a very colourfull friday.
have a good week-end, looks like my hang over finally dissolved, time to go out.

but, ah forget my fate

at the job with not much to do.

I hope tonight's theme will be "young chick rides her motorcycle like hell in her underwear"

felt like sharing this but you understand I cannot post this on a rebel motorcycle board. ehe.

darkness shades me,
On thy bosom let me rest,
More I would, but Death invades me;
Death is now a welcome guest.
When I am laid in earth, May my wrongs create
No trouble in thy breast;
Remember me, but ah! forget my fate.

felt like making the wrong turn this morning on a very sunny day and ride for 10 or 12 hours before Id' go back to the job.
